Have I not had enough words of praise for recent folk-inspired artists from Britain? Alessi Laurent-Marke, or Alessi's Ark, is yet another singer-songwriter from that tiny isle overseas who's managed to wow an entire continent and more with her knack for creating pastoral and serene canvases of sound. Of course, if you've been following the blog this week you know that she has her work cut out for her.
I apologize for not having much to say/offer about the most recent album, Time Travel -- it was just released one week ago. Initial reviews are pretty positive, and based on my first listen to album I would have to agree. The songs are a bit more jaunty at times and never move slower than a lazy shuffle, though this might come at the expense of the tranquil beauty characteristic on her first album. What do you all think?
Albums: Time Travel (2011), Notes From the Treehouse (2009)
Tracks: The Horse, Constellations, The Robot, Maybe I Know
